Introduction to Photography and Alternative Processes

Anyone with an interest in photography looking to gain a thorough understanding of the subject. You may be interested in studying photography further in the future.

Course Detail
On the course, you will gain a thorough overview of photography, and learn there really is no distinction between digital and analogue cameras. I’ll introduce you to photography’s historical, contextual and technical aspects. I’ll also demonstrate how to do alternative photographic process such as Cyanotypes and Salt prints as well as night photography. Expect to be guided through processes and techniques, explore and manipulate your work to create a set of unique images. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss and reference photographers and current exhibitions which will inspire and inform your work.
Course Outcomes
The course will give you the confidence and ability to gain control of your photographs and you’ll leave with a small portfolio of work. Moreover, you’ll understand how images are generated in a camera.

SLR Camera, Tripod, (Digital or traditional camera)
Course Cost:
£220 which includes food on location shooting and drinks. Meeting at coffee shops when looking at portfolios etc.
